You have one of the most highly anticipated comedy tours of 2010—The Royal Comedy Tour. No holds barred humor, cutting edge comedy, “what you say” wit, freak you out funniness and raw revelry simply sums up the scene on stage for The Royal Comedy Tour. In addition to funny front man and special guest comic Bruce Bruce, some of the hottest, most respected old and new school comics around will round out Sommore and D.L.’s royal court on this year’s Royal Comedy Tour. Don ‘DC” Curry and J. Anthony Brown will be coming to court.
The Royal Comedy Tour comes to Atlanta, GA to the Atlanta Civic Center on Saturday, March 13th. The Royal Comedy Tour kicks off February 6th during Super Bowl Weekend in Miami, FL at the James L. Knight Center and will run throughout the months of February and March. The tour is being presented by North American Entertainment Group. Each city will have a different lineup of comedians. Appearing in Atlanta will be Sommore, D.L.Hughley, J. Anthony Brown and Don D.C. Curry.
With raw, unapologetic, hard hitting, hilarious comedy sketches broaching everything from Tiger to The Gosselins and the Octomom to Obama, nothing will be off limits as these comedians light up the stage and even people in the audience with their rowdy routines for The Royal Comedy Tour. If it makes news, they will mock it, if it hits the headlines they will hammer it, if it fires people up, they will make fun of it and if TMZ tackles it, they will take it apart bit by bit. About Sommore This trendsetting, highly-acclaimed veteran entertainer is widely considered one of America's top comedic female entertainers. With a winning combination of class and sass, Sommore offers audiences a hilarious, yet piercing look at today's issues from a woman's perspective. She is frank and fearless in her routines, tackling topics that range from the mundane to the controversial with wit, intelligence and style. In addition to her stand-up performances, Sommore has also appeared in several films including Friday After Next with Ice Cube, Family Reunion, Soul Plane, Something New and Dirty Laundry and has appeared as a featured guest on television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ABC’s The View, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher and CNN Headline News, and was profiled on Comedy Central's "Special Women in Comedy" program. Sommore also participated in season six of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club and was cast as the cornerstone for the "mob" with Bob Saget for the NBC primetime show 1 vs 100, appeared as the special guest star on MTV's Nick Cannon's Wild N' Out, and hosted Live at Gotham for Comedy Central. Most recently she released her much anticipated DVD, The Queen Stands Alone, which originally aired to ground breaking numbers on Comedy Central. About D.L. Hughley D. L. Hughley is one of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today. He is undoubtedly also one of the most influential voices in the world of comedy and has quickly risen to the ranks of comedic royalty, alongside Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor, just to name a few. His raw, unadulterated, unapologetic, frank, in your face approach to comedy, which cleverly infuses current events and everyday run of the mill happenings has also made him a staple and mainstay in the hearts and minds of millions of people across the globe. Most recently, Hughley hosted his own news commentary show on the national news network, CNN entitled, D. L. Hughley Breaks The News. The show was Hughley’s comedic take on the week’s events in the news with everything from politics to entertainment, sports and pop culture, as well as one-on-one interviews with a wide range of newsmakers and the reporters who cover them. Hughley wowed audiences in 2001 in The Brothers, opposite Bill Bellamy and Shemar Moore, co-starred in Cloud Nine opposite Burt Reynolds and in recent years was the voice for the Gadgetmobile in the live-action film Inspector Gadget that starred Matthew Broderick, inspired by the 1980s cartoon series of the same name. He will next be seen in the film Doubting Thomas. But, it was the mega-hit Original Kings of Comedy that launched Hughley into superstardom. The film, based on the 1999 tour by the same name featuring Hughley, Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer, garnered close to $40 million at the box office and became one of the highest selling DVDs in 2001.
About J. Anthony Brown For those in the know, “WatchOutDehNow” is more than a heed to action, it’s the trademark catcall for funnyman J. Anthony Brown. As a staple on the nationally syndicated radio morning show, “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” for almost a decade now, the South Carolina native is one of the foremost voices that wake up millions of radio listeners in over 195 markets day to day. An industry staple, Brown’s impressive list of credits have included performances on Comic View, Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo and Evening at the Improv, writing credits on The Arsenio Hall Show, The Tom Joyner TV Show, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, Me and The Boys and The Parent ‘Hood. His movie and TV credits have included XXX: State of the Union with Ice Cube, Mr. 3000 with the late great comedian Bernie Mac, Drumline opposite Nick Cannon & How to Be a Player, alongside Bill Bellamy and hit TV shows like Eve, The Parkers, Livin’ Single, Martin, Moesha, The Hughleys, and even Oprah. About Don “D.C.” Curry After the being named "Comedian Of The Year" by BET and eventually hosting Comic View, film and TV roles started flooding in for Curry. His list of credits would grow to include a regular role on ABC's, Grace Under Fire, performances on HBO's critically acclaimed The Chris Rock Show, the hit sitcom, Roseanne and The Steve Harvey Show. He would also gain critical acclaim and chatter as “Pastor Jones” on the NBC sitcom, The Tracey Morgan Show, as the outrageous “Uncle Elroy” in Next Friday, and the hilarious holiday three-quel Friday After Next. He would go on to film, Don "D.C." Curry-Nervous Breakdown Live!, his own DVD/cable TV special and CD that he also co-produced and also star in his own cable special, Comedy Central presents D.C.
